Stephanie is a Solicitor and Principal of the specialist data protection and privacy law firm, Pritchetts.

Having trained with Burges Salmon LLP, Stephanie qualified into the Company Commercial Department. Stephanie was the “go to” person at the firm for all data protection, privacy and freedom of information matters before she left in 2009 and set up her own specialist practice.

Pritchetts is a niche independent commercial law firm specialising primarily in the provision of legal and consultancy advice in respect of European data protection and freedom of information legislation. It also provides legal advice in relation to many general commercial, sports law, IT and IP matters.

Stephanie has also spent time developing her commercial acumen while on industry secondments with GBR Challenge, Royal Botanic Gardens Kew and Virgin Mobile. Prior to joining Burges Salmon, Stephanie spent a year as principal in-house legal advisor to the Seattle Challenge for the America's Cup (in the USA and in New Zealand) and then six months with the British America's Cup team.

Stephanie has over a decade’s experience advising a wide range of private and public sector clients on all aspects of data protection, freedom of information and privacy law. This has included advising on large data protection and data retention audits, implementing internal compliance programmes and policies, compliant transfer of data in and outside the EEA, buying and selling of databases, direct marketing and website compliance, data security, use of CCTV and dealing with subject access requests as well as on the interaction between freedom of information and data protection legislation.

Stephanie also provides clients with advice in relation to IP exploitation, IT, outsourcing, e-commerce and general commercial legal issues. As well as advising her own clients, she provides consultancy and training services to market-leading training companies.

Stephanie is also an experienced speaker and trainer and is known for a training style which focuses on practical matters as well as for giving business-minded feedback to participant’s queries.

Outside the work environment, Stephanie enjoys sailing, swimming and travelling to new countries.
