Robert Postlethwaite (Postlethwaites Solicitors)

A graduate in law from the University of Bristol, Robert was a partner in a national firm of corporate lawyers before founding Postlethwaite & Co in 2003.
Postlethwaite & Co is an English law firm specialising in employee share schemes, including share option schemes, share incentive, majority employee ownership, long term incentive plans (LTIPs) and other ways of providing employee shares.

The firm believes that finding the right share scheme and making it deliver employee shares as efficiently as possible needs specialist professional advice. As the only UK solicitors firm focusing principally on share schemes and employee ownership in the private and smaller listed company, the firm not only helps clients create a share scheme tailored to its particular needs but also ensures that they are in capable hands when it comes to legal implementation. As lawyers with experience of a wide range of commercial transactions and situations, the firm works to ensure that client share schemes are commercially wise, structurally sound and take into account all relevant company and employment law and taxation issues.

"Brown Rudnick has used Postlethwaite for all our share-based compensation transactional needs since the firm was established in 2003. This has included advice on creating share schemes for a number of private equity-backed companies and support on several AIM listings and M&A projects including, most recently, a substantial public company takeover with an extremely complicated ESOP structure. The quality of service and advice are fantastic, the charges most reasonable and, all in all, I have always felt as if we had the A Team just down the corridor." Tina Baker - Partner, Brown Rudnick

Robert is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association, the Share Plan Lawyers Group and the Share Plan Committee of the Quoted Companies Alliance.
